Pet Etiquette Program
While we want to assure you that your pet is welcome to stay, we do ask that you follow a few guidelines:

  • Please keep your dog on a leash at all times when you are not inside your room. Even if your pet is extremely well behaved, other guests will be put at ease if your dog is on his or her leash.
  • Your dog is welcome on a leash on the upper pool patio.
  • Cleaning up after your pet on the grounds is required. Bags are located at the Front Desk
  • Pets are not allowed in the fitness center, pool area, café or bar.
  • Please let Housekeeping know when it is a good time to clean your room, either when you are there with your pet or, preferably, when both you and your pet are going to be away from your room.
  • Pet bowls are provided in your room for water and food.
  • As it is our responsibility to ensure the enjoyment of all our guests, we ask that you be responsible for controlling your dog and prevent them from barking or causing any other disturbance to our other guests.

*A $150 fee per room/per reservation will be assessed when bringing your pet.

Dog-Friendly Trails in Lake Tahoe

Shirley Lake Trail:  A 2½ mile trail that starts at the end of Squaw Peak Rd.  (There are numerous trails which follow the creek up to Shirly Lake; this is one of them).  Follow the creek 2½  miles each way, passing gorgeous waterfalls and canyon boulders.  Going uphill, stay to the left of the creek; going downhill, stay to the right.  The trail diverges and disappears at times, but just keep following the creek and you will get there.  The hike is somewhat difficult and takes 2½-3 hours round trip.

Five Lakes Trail:  A 2½-3 mile (one way) trail.  The trail head is located about half way up Alpine Meadows Rd on the right.  Hike up hill for 2 miles then trail veers to the left to the first of five beautiful lakes.

Page Meadows/Ward Creek Trail:  A 3 mile trail that starts at the 64 acre park in Tahoe City.  Turn right at the stop light in Tahoe City.  64 acre park is ¼ mile down the road on the right.  Find Parking, trail head information is near the bridge.  Page Meadow is a series of large meadows that provide lots of open space and views of the crest of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

North Lake Tahoe Bike Path:  Leashed dogs are welcomed on the bike path between Squaw Valley and Tahoe City.  The bike path starts approx ¼ mile down Squaw Valley Rd near the old horse stables.

***Please see the Front Desk if you would like further information regarding these hikes***
